Strawberries and Cream Cup

This simple strawberries and cream cup is a sweet summer dessert made with fresh strawberries and soft cream. It is easy to prepare, needs no cooking, and is gentle to eat. I love this recipe because it feels fresh, light, and comforting — perfect for children, family gatherings, or anyone who needs something soft and easy to enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 300g fresh strawberries
  • 200ml double cream or whipping cream
  • 1–2 teaspoons sugar, optional
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional

Wash the Strawberries

Wash the strawberries gently under cold water. Drain them well and pat them dry with kitchen paper or a clean towel.

Cut the Strawberries

Remove the green tops from the strawberries. Cut the strawberries into small pieces so they are easy to layer and easy to eat.

Add the First Strawberry Layer

Place a spoonful of chopped strawberries at the bottom of a clear glass or dessert cup. This makes the first fresh and colourful layer.

Add the Cream Layer

Spoon or pipe a layer of soft whipped cream over the strawberries. If you like, you can lightly sweeten the cream with a little sugar and vanilla.

Finish and Serve

Repeat the layers with more strawberries and more cream. Add a few strawberry pieces on top. Serve straight away, or chill in the fridge for a little while before serving.
