Sea Bass Rice Plate

Cooking Time:

40 mins Active kitchen time: about 10–15 minutes The rice cooker and oven do most of the work.

Level:

Easy

This Sea Bass Rice Plate is the first plate in Angelina’s Plates: Summer. The idea is simple: Carb + Protein + Colorful Vegetables For this plate, I chose rice as the carb, sea bass as the protein, and a deep green salad as the colorful vegetable part. On hot summer days, I like meals that do not keep me in the kitchen for too long. The rice cooks in the rice cooker, the fish bakes in the oven, and the salad comes together at the end. This is not a strict diet plan. It is a gentle home kitchen method to help build a balanced plate with less effort.

Ingredients

Carb

  • Cooked rice
  • A few green peas, optional, for colour

Protein

  • 1 sea bass fillet
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper, optional
  • Lemon slice, optional

Colorful Salad

  • Lettuce
  • Spinach
  • Rocket
  • Cucumber
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Carrot

Dressing

  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Lemon juice, optional

Step1: Choose Your Carb

For this plate, I chose rice.

Rice is soft, simple, and easy to prepare in a rice cooker. For other plates, you can also choose bread, pasta, pizza, or noodles.

The idea is not that you must always choose rice. The idea is to know where the carb is on your plate.

Step2: Build Your Colorful Salad

Start with lettuce as the base.

Then add spinach, rocket, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and carrot. This salad has a deep green feeling, but it is not only green. The tomato and carrot add brightness, sweetness, and colour.

A good salad should feel fresh, colorful, and easy to eat.

Step 3: Choose Your Protein

For this plate, I chose sea bass.

Sea bass is light, gentle, and works well with green vegetables. I like baking it in the oven because it needs very little attention.

For other plates, you can also choose chicken, beef, tofu, or eggs.

Step 4: Choose Your Dressing & Toss

For this salad, I used a very simple dressing:

olive oil + salt

You can add lemon juice if you like a fresher taste.

I like tossing the salad in a large bowl before serving. This helps the olive oil, salt, tomato juice, and lemon gently coat every leaf.

Step 5: Assemble Your Plate

Place everything together on one plate:

1/2 colorful salad
1/4 rice
1/4 sea bass

This proportion is not a strict rule. It is a visual reminder.

When I look at the plate, I can quickly check:

Do I have a carb?
Do I have protein?
Do I have enough colorful vegetables?

That is the heart of Angelina’s Plates.
