Orange Cake with Fresh Citus Glaze

This soft and moist orange cake is made with fresh orange juice and topped with a sweet citrus glaze. Bright, light, and full of fresh flavor, it is perfect for afternoon tea, dessert, or a cozy weekend treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 oranges
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 150g sugar
  • 120ml vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Orange Glaze

  • 100g powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • Orange zest for decoration

Prepare the Oranges

Wash the oranges well. Grate the zest and squeeze the juice. Preheat the oven to 175°C.

Mix the Wet Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, oil, vanilla extract, and fresh orange juice until smooth.

Add the Dry Ingredients

Add the flour, baking powder, salt, and orange zest. Mix gently until the batter is smooth and combined.

Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into a cake pan and bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked inside.

Add the Orange Glaze

Mix powdered sugar with orange juice to make the glaze. Pour it over the cooled cake and decorate with fresh orange slices and zest.
